Antichrist II (Daniel #19)

We will study the career of perhaps the most famous future figure ever, the Antichrist.

Antichrist’s Devices

Daniel 11:21-29

  • Peace – So this vile person will enter peaceably (Daniel 11:24)
    • by peace shall destroy many (Daniel 8:25)
    • When they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them (1 Thessalonians 5:1-3)
  • Flattery – Psalm 55:21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
  • Unity – after the league made with him…
    • Toes – in the days of these kings

  • Deceit – Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
    • This is going to be one of the most prevalent spirits at this time
  • Bribery – he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches:
    • Isaiah 10:5-6, 12-14

Antichrist’s Devilment

Daniel 11:30-39

  • ships of Chittim – Isaiah 23, Numbers 24:23-24
  • Disobedient Jews who forsake the holy covenant and cling to the Antichrist
    • Iron/Clay Daniel 2:41 the potter’s clay has already been defined for you in Jeremiah 18-19
      • Jeremiah 18 Jeremiah received the typology of the potter’s clay and prophecies to Judah’s leadership.  They reject his words.
      • Jeremiah 19 Jeremiah takes a clay bottle, prophecies again to Judah’s leadership but this time breaks the bottle Jeremiah 19:10-11
    • Psalm 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
    • Intelligence – Central Intelligence Agency for example
  • pollute the sanctuary of strength
    • Revelation 11:1-3 – 1260 days, 42 months, time times and dividing of time, three and a half years
    • Rise of false prophets – some of the greatest preachers and miracle workers will be given to the people to work miracles and to speak wonderful things
      • Matthew 24:9-14
      • Daniel 11:32-34 – this is the falling away first that Paul told the Thessalonians about in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
      • Deception in the seven churches in Revelation – Ephesus tried them which say they are apostles (Revelation 2:2), Smyrna will know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not (Revelation 2:9), Thyatira sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess to teach and seduce my servants (Revelation 2:20), and God will break the disobedient ones as the vessels of a potter (Revelation 2:27)
    • Persecution will intensify like never before

Antichrist’s Destruction

Daniel 11:40-45

  • Egypt comes at him and he turns toward them in fury – Isaiah 19
    • He will set up shop in Jerusalem on the temple mount and be given 42 months, 3 and a half years from the time sets himself up in the temple
    • Revelation 13:1-7
  • Rise of the false prophet in connection with devil’s rage funnelled through the antichrist
  • Nahum 1
  • Revelation 13:11-17
  • False prophet will tie the economy to idolatry.
    • What is this mark?
    • I suppose it’s like Ash Wednesday before you go into Wal Mart.  You get a little mark put on your head or your hand
  • Tidings – Daniel 11:44
    • Nahum 1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
    • But in conjunction with the rise of this false prophet will be the ministry of the two witnesses: Elijah and Moses, at least the spirit of Elijah and Moses
