Covenant in Moses

The souls that came out of Jacob begin to be put under hard bondage in Egypt (Exodus 1:1-11).

Hebrews 11:24-27 – Moses’ faith is exhibited in his siding with Israel against Egypt – Exodus 2:11-14 is the account of it.

Then in Exodus 2:23-25 God hears the cries of Jacob’s children in Egypt.

Exodus 3:1-7, Moses is called by God while he’s in the Sinai mountains and the Israelites are still in Egypt. Exodus 3:11-12 God says the token will be when Moses gets out of Egypt with the children of Israel he will return to this Sinai mountain. (Exodus 19:1-6 is when Moses returns to the mount with the Israelites.)

The covenant is laid out in Exodus, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy (See Leviticus 26, particularly verses 9, 15, 25, 42, 44-45). The law of Moses would tell Israel how to conduct themselves in the promised land and describe the coming Christ specifically and with typology.

  • There is a book of the covenant (Exodus 24:7) which is the law of Moses in Genesis – Deuteronomy.
  • The blood (Exodus 24:8)
  • A sabbath rest (Exodus 31:16)
  • The ark of the covenant (Numbers 10:33)
  • A priesthood (Numbers 25:12-13)
