Galatians 4:4 …fullness of time…
Prophetic timing
- Daniel 9:25-26 – Notice the 70 weeks are broken down to 7 weeks + 62 weeks + 1 week.
- They are determined, but not consecutive
- 7 weeks (49 years) – Silver – Medes/Persians
- 62 weeks (434 years) – Brass – Greek – silent years (no scripture)
- 1 week (7 years) – Iron – Assyrian confederacy
- 7 weeks (49 years) – Silver – Ram – Medes/Persians
- Rebuilding the wall in troublous times (9:25)
- Recorded in Nehemiah and the time is 445 B.C.
- Done during the silver phase of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2
- Done during the Ram of Daniel 8
- The commandment to rebuild the temple began with Cyrus as is recorded in Ezra, but that was not specified in Daniel’s 70 weeks.
- 62 weeks (434 years) – Brass – Goat – Greece
- after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off (9:26)
- Done during the brass phase of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2
- The clock would start with the Persians desire to rebuild the temple. Notice that it was men from the east that were looking for the Messiah’s birth in Matthew 2. So they had these numbers and worked backwards, figuring the Messiah to be 30 years old when he started his ministry (Numbers 4:3) and would die shortly after that.
Generational timing
- Matthew 1:17. For some reason, the Lord thought it significant to point out the number of generations from Abraham to Jesus. And a breakdown of how those generations divided out.
- From the promise of land (Abraham) to the acquisition (David) is 14 generations. From the acquisition to the loss of the land to the Gentiles (Nebuchadnezzar) is another fourteen generations. That was according to the law. From the loss of the land to the birth of Jesus Christ the promised seed would be another fourteen generations.
- 42 generations from Abraham
- Other instances where judgement would be complete after 42
- 42 cities set aside for the Levites in Numbers 35:6 – administration of judgment
- 42 years to clean out the house of Saul in 2 Samuel 2:10 – purging of a household
- 42 children killed by bears for mocking Elisha in 2 Kings 2:23-24 – satisfied judgment of mockers
- 42 months given to Gentiles to trample underfoot, Revelation 11:2, 13:5 – judgment of God on the Jews religion
- Luke 3:23-38 reckons his genealogy from Adam, the first man who was the son of God
- 76 generations from Adam
- Seven is another significant number. It describes completion. 7 days in a week and another week begins. 7 notes and the progression begins again.
- The 77th generation from Adam would be the children of God.
- Psalm 22:30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
- 1 Peter 2:9
- 69 generations from Enoch
- 70 weeks in Daniel 9
- 70 generations from the first preacher of the Second Coming. See Jude 14-15
- 76 generations from Adam
Particular timing
- 1 Chronicles 24:10 – two week stint (15th & 16th weeks from beginning of the year which begins in March or April)
- Luke 1:5 course of Abia
- Luke 1:25 5th month after John Baptist conception (November)
- Luke 1:26 6th month after John Baptist conception (December), Jesus is conceived.
- Jesus would be born in September most likely.
- September (7th month)
- Leviticus 23:27, 34 a day of atonement prefacing the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days (14th – 21st)
