God and Satan as fathers.
Conception of children
- Satan becomes a father by pleasing yourself
- He produces children through temptation of the lust that is in you.
- John 8:42-47
- Temptation
- Satan becomes your father by bringing out something that’s already in you. It’s a natural course for you to take.
- James 1:13-15 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: (God didn’t make you this way and He didn’t make you do what you did) 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
- He produces children through temptation of the lust that is in you.
- So his children are known by the sin that entangles them – liars, thieves, murderers, idolaters, adulterers, fornicators, abominable, wicked, etc.
- God becomes a father by believing his promises
- Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
- John 1:12 – son of God, referring to the new Spirit that you’ve received
- new creature – 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15
- The child is a son of God, 1 John 3:1-2, although the child of God hasn’t appeared yet.
- 1 Peter 1:22-23 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Characteristics of children
- Satan’s characteristics
- Carnal desires
- John 8:44: lusts, murderer, abode not in the truth because no truth in him.
- Appetite of the flesh is the appetite of the devil.
- 2 Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
- Carnal thoughts – James 3:14-16 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
- Carnal desires
- God’s characteristics
- The new nature of this new child of God has been authored by Jesus Christ and written down in the Bible.
- Colossians 3:9-12 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
- Obedience to the Father is a characteristic – John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Appetite is to obey the word of God.
- 1 Peter 2:2… desire the sincere milk of the word
Crowning of children
- Satan’s children
- Crowned in this world, Luke 4:5, before being discarded. Luke 4:5-6 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
- Pleasures of sin for a season… and ultimately cast into a lake of fire with their father – Revelation 21:7-8 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
- God’s children
- Adoption of sons – Romans 8:15-17, 23 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. … 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
- Luke 12:32-34, 42-44 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also… 42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
