Text: Psalm 72
David prays for his son Solomon as he takes the throne, that’s the history of this psalm. It describes the rule of the Lord Jesus Christ though and that’s why the Holy Spirit recorded in his scriptures.
God’s righteousness is the foundation (vss 1-3, 7).
The most influential spirit in the world will be the spirit of God.
There will be other kings (vss 10-11)
There is still the exchange of goods and money (vs 15)
Creation is flourishing like never before (vs 16).
