The temptation to sin (vss 11-14)
- The plan isn’t new. They want money for nothing and they don’t care who they have to hurt to get it.
- The love of money is the root of all evil.
- Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus Christ for money.
- Temptation comes from the company you’re keeping.
- Temptation appeals to something already inside you.
Here is wisdom (vss 16-19)
- Evil does as evil is.
- If innocent blood isn’t a concern do you think they’ll care to take your life?
- Wickedness eats its own.
- When they’re done using you, they’ll be done with you.
- Look at verse 17.
- This bad company is described as vultures. You’ll participate in their robbery, come back to divide the treasure and they’ll take your treasure too.
- They are described as a flock of seagulls. Down in Corpus Christi, there are shrimp boats that go out early in the morning. What you’ll see as that net is being dragged is a flock of birds. Have you ever seen seagulls at the beach when you throw food? They will swarm to get what they can get. They will run over each other to get that bread crumb. That’s the description of this group of people.
Instructions to be wise (vss 10, 15)

- Creates mixed signals to those who watch you.
- Genesis 19:1-14 Lot seemed as one that mocked.
- Walk not; and you definitely better not walk with them.
- Ephesians 5:7-11 (Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord is not proving to you, but proving to the people around you!)

- 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
