Matthew 22:15-22
Ruined image
- God’s main purpose in explaining creation and man and man’s fall in Genesis 1-3 is to highlight two things. First, man is made in God’s image. Second, that image is defaced by sin.

Recovered in Christ
- Jesus Christ recovers the image of God. This is how he is called the Son of God. Like father, like Son.
- Hebrews 1:3
- Jesus Christ is the center of everything the Father will point to. Christ is the fullness of the godhead bodily.

- Romans 8:29
Responsibility of man
- Render to God what He made you to be.
- Cesar’s currency is how Cesar’s kingdom operates. It takes money to do the work of Cesar’s kingdom. And that work is performed by something that bears Cesar’s image.
- So too is God’s kingdom. The work of the kingdom is performed by something that bears the image of God. The fruit of the Spirit, wisdom, equity, justice, and many like things are the reality of God’s kingdom and the work of God’s kingdom. These things are performed by something that bears the image of God.
