Text: Colossians 1:9
There are things in my life that have happened to my benefit because someone else prayed. Paul is praying the Colossians would be filled with the understanding of God’s will so they could walk pleasing God and bearing fruit.
Abraham – Genesis 20:6-7 – prayer for fruitfulness on someone else’s behalf
Moses – Numbers 21:7 – prayer for mercy on someone else’s behalf
Samuel – 1 Samuel 12:16-23 – sin of prayerlessness
Mordecai – Esther 4:15-17 – prayer of protection on someone else’s behalf
Job – Job 42:7-10 – prayer for restoration on someone else’s behalf
Luke 22:31-32 – Jesus prays that Peter doesn’t faint
John 17:9-26 – prayer for unity, protection, and sanctification
Acts 12:5 – prayer for deliverance
What a blessing to be the recipient of God’s answer to someone else’s prayer. Now, how about you be the one who asks the Lord to rain showers of blessings on someone else? You be the one to get a hold of God for the sake of someone else.
